AN EXQUISITE RECONCILIATION

 

Social media has nowadays helped us in lot many ways, most importantly in re establishing the lost contact.

A similar advantage was enjoyed by my mom who reconciled with her friends once again after a gap of 26 years.

Every reunion is a chance to commemorate the blossoms of glorious moments.

She told me excitedly as she returned back home from her class reunion. I saw her and l looked at her face dripping honey of happiness, excited to tell me how magical her day was.

"Thank god! I was able to visit the party or I would have missed this golden chance and would have been now repenting and crying.

The best effect of fine persons is felt after we have enjoyed their presence. Everyone was so nice and respectful and warm hearted as expected." She told me and went on narrating her miraculous day of enjoyment.

"I had a sensitive batch of students when I was in class 12. But unfortunately we were not as blessed as your generation and had lost contact after 12th. Barely we met with each other and when we met only we only exchanged few greetings.

And as life continued to move forward, we all lost contact with each other. The only memory I had of my class 12 was a group photograph of which I only recognized my friends and a few classmates with whom I occasionally had short conversations.

Never had I imagined we would be clicking that group photo again.

Thanks to the efforts of my friends Sarla, Sandeep and Vinod who took such a wonderful initiative to organize such a warm hearted party. It was totally beyond my imagination.

We were there not as parents but those teens only who met each other after a long time. The story continued and mom thanked me for creating her facebook account back then in December 2018, because I felt that she has lost herself completely in taking care of us. Till then she had a bad perspective about social media.

So her expedititon on facebook began and she started to search her friends. I still remember the evening when she met her friend Rama and was overjoyed with happiness to talk to her. Her search continued and she started to find more of her batchmates.

Her search continued and something magical happened in lockdown 2020 she went on to tell me.

She by then had found her class

mates named Sanju, Vijender, Suman, Santosh and Jitender and with the collective efforts of  her friends they made a group on whatsapp on 2nd June, 2020 and her friend Shashi coined the name 'CRAZY FELLOWS' to it having 20 classmates of her in it, including the friends mentioned above and some more named Jai Dev, Pratima, Raju, Sunita , Sunil, Pawan, Ramesh, Babu Ram, vinod , Hukam Chand, Sheetal and Ganesh Dutt

Later more of her classmates joined the group like Sita, Krishna and Ashwani.

The initial chats they had were all about catching up with each other and later they were so immersed in the group that mom used to ignore us telling us that I have devoted my entire life to you guys and now let me have some fun.

She told me hat the group was fun. They used to encircle themselves in the group photo to recognize each other..

I am very glad that she is finally taking sometime to enjoy her life. She told me that it is a boon and a stress buster during the time of this pandemic. She then was so gratified to all her mates and of course to Mark Zuckerberg..

The group meant family to all of them .I recall Mom told me few days ago before their anniversary that she wanted to make a video including her batchmates to celebrate the occasion. I helped her to make one and believe me she was completely engrossed in it..She was actively involved in it.. from choosing a perfect song to selecting and collecting the best photo of every group member. she had put all her efforts in it to turn it into a mesmerizing video.

Indeed her efforts bear excellent results and every one liked that video. I remember her watching a video a million times a day for the next 2-3 days. her golden smile is still flashing in front of my eyes.

Coming back to her reunion it was just like a Bollywood movie, having adequate proportions of thrill, joy, tragedy and loads of happiness.

Just a day before the congregation, the main road to the decided destination collapsed in a landslide. The news as tragic as it was shattered her dreams to visit her friends. There was no other way now.

But as nice and helpful her buddies are, they told her that she need not to worry and that they will pick her up somehow even if it meant to travel 70 kms.

She was so so thankful to them but uncomforting others was never the part of her plan.

But somehow the things smoothened up and she ultimately reached.

There they had a golden time. The arrangements her friends had made were top notch and they enjoyed chit chats with each other. they visited the nearby landmarks including the famous Shiv Gufa and the bridge built in 1857. They enjoyed the lunch and photographs taken in bunch...

Then came the time when they had to bid adieu to each other. Wasn't the day too short?..How come did it pass so quickly?

But anyways they departed and once again united virtually..

They exchanged the  photos and mom was watching them again and again.. She told me that it was no less than a festival for her.

It was memorable experience and she is looking forward to celebrate many such moments with her fellows in the future too..

She is thankful to her fate for giving her the opportunity to reminisce with her old friends and to relive those valuable moments once again.

Truly, reunion reveals friendship potential that haven't been emerged in the past.
